The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
I stumbled upon this chocolate chip recipe and I keep coming back to it. It’s THAT good. I’ve made my fair share of chocolate chip cookies with varying ingredients and methods, and this one, in my opinion is the best! This recipe is really fast and easy too! So whipping them up will take you no time at all.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, melt butter but leave large chunks still visible
3/4¾cup light brown sugar, packed
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 large egg
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (I used half chips and half chunks, but either is fine)
Coarse sea salt (optional for sprinkling over cooked cookies)
INSTRUCTIONS
preheat oven to 350° | Bake for 8-10 mins
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl mix together the flour, baking soda and the salt: Set aside.
In a large bowl beat together the butter, sugars, vanilla extract and the vinegar until smooth. Beat in the egg just until combined.
Mix the flour mixture into the wet mixture just until combined. Stir in the chips.
Using a large cookie scoop (about 2 rounded tablespoons) drop about 3 inches apart onto cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, they will look light brown around the edges and will look underdone in the center. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle each cookie with a little sea salt. Allow to sit on the sheet for 10 minutes before moving to a rack to cool.
Enjoy!
HOW TO FREEZE COOKIE DOUGH
Right after you have mixed your dough and it’s ready to place on a cookie sheet to bake, get another small lined cookie sheet ready. Scoop dough onto cookie sheet completely filling it if you aren’t baking any cookies. If you are baking cookies, scoop any remaining dough on sheet to freeze.
Place cookie sheet into freezer to let cookies harden for at least a couple of hours.
Remove cookies and place in a ziplock bag with cooking instructions.
Add 1-3 mins onto original bake time.
Cookies can be baked right out of the freezer!
Store frozen cookie dough for up to 6 months in freezer.
Enjoy!
